Seonyx Endorses Mojoportal

After a years trial, Seonyx Web Design Choose Mojoportal as their Default Content Management System

CADIZ, SPAIN, January 22, 2012 /DotCom PR News/ -- The Web Design and programming division of Spain based full service internet provider Seonyx have completed an exhaustive trial of content management systems and chosen Mojoportal as their framework for future development projects.

Seonyx have been building websites since 2004 using a content management system (CMS) in-house.

While the in-house system has developed over time, its functionality has been over taken by third party content management systems. Also the in-house CMS has a support burden cost. Perhaps 10% of the time spent on a new project was taken with making updates and changes to our own system.

The decision was made in early 2011 that it would be more economical to choose a 3rd party alternative.A list was drawn up of all the market leaders. Since the preferred platform of Seonyx is ASP.NET we eliminated PHP based systems. Further filtering left a list of six main contenders. Then we installed each system and developed websites in each one to get a 'real experience' of working with the software.

After the trials were completed and reviewed, Mojoportal emerged as the winner.

Why did we choose Mojoportal? Well firstly ease of use. Unlike some more popular CMS offerings, Mojoportal installed first time with no error messages. We found it intuitive to use and the bare-bones of the first website we built with it was up in an afternoon.

Our programmers commented that Mojoportal appears to have been constructed with a great deal of common sense. Lead programmer Melissa Russell said "There is no evidence of the bad design decisions that plague the competition (like 'Gee we wrote it in VB.net but wait that was wrong so we'll rewrite the whole thing in C#' or 'Shucks you know nobody really likes our XSLT breadcrumbs so we'll change them to Razor syntax')"

We also found that Mojoportal was the easiest CMS to skin. Skinning is such a fundamental issue for a CMS that it came as a surprise to find how complicated some of the other systems managed to make this.

The other big factor that impressed us about Mojoportal was that the documentation of its API was well structure and clearly written in plain English. Melissa said "When changing to a new software product in a commercial environment, having documentation that is easy to understand makes the adoption quicker and cheaper. Mojoportal was clearly the product with the shortest learning curve."

Mojoportal ticks all our boxes and so far we have found few drawbacks so we look forward to incorporating it into many future web design projects.
